EarthX Data Layers
EarthX is a geospatial platform. Layers are a key component and overlay interactive geographic data onto a digital globe.
My Role: Work with product and design teams to source raw data. Write descriptions of what each layer shows. Research, edit, and fact check content.
Results: Wrote 100s of layer descriptions under deadline which was used: 1) in 'more info' targeted window 2) as script for short narrated layer intro animations

EarthX Geostory
EarthX is a geospatial information platform and geostories are one of its main offerings. Geostories are cinematic narratives that bring data layers to life.
Goal: Showcase what can be done with EarthX's tool and with this geostory in particular -- get people excited about Earth.
My Role: Conceive, pitch, research, and write narration scripts for animated geostories to showcase EarthX's capabilties.
Results: Worked with product and design teams to produce geostories in-house.

Community Technology Network Web & Video Content
Community Technology Network (CTN) transforms lives by teaching digital literacy to underserved populations nationwide.
Goal: Improve CTN's website, support video production for fundraising appeal, and solidify Twitter for Good partnership
My Roles: Recommend website changes and produce new content; Strengthen Twitter for Good partnership; Video production strategic support
Results: New website launched successfully; CTN received a sizable Twitter for Good grant; video production completed under deadline

Care2 Causes Articles
Care2.com is the world's largest online network for good.
Goal: Write engaging content that compels readers to sign petitions and take other suggested actions.
My Role: Pitched, researched, and wrote articles; sourced accompanying photos; delivered under tight deadlines.
Results: Multiple articles became "Care2 Favorites" based on audience engagement levels (100s of comments/ thousands of social media shares per post)

AltruVistas Blog Posts
AltruVistas is an ethical travel company.
Goal: Write engaging content that compels readers to sign up for upcoming trips and take other suggested actions.
My Role: As AltruVistas' Community Manager, I managed the editorial calendar, wrote content, edited other writer's content, sourced accompanying photos, and delivered under tight deadlines.
Results: AltruVistas' blog became an integral promotional tool to help fill trips.

The Global Exchange Online Store sold socially responsible gifts from around the world.
Goal: Develop a corporate gift program to increase sales volume and revenue and support more artisans worldwide.
My Role: Conception and implementation; Wrote promotional content (digital and print); Corporate account sales; Client liason
Results: Program far exceeded financial targets. Landed major media coverage and high profile clients such as Focus Features

Article: Initiatives Related to Sustainable Consumption and Civil Society
The UN sponsored CP/RAC is an annual international technical publication.
Goal: As Marketing Director of an international human rights organization, my goal was to raise awareness about our organization's socially responsible revenue generating business model.
My Role: Pitched, researched, and wrote article; sourced accompanying photos.

Goal: Share expertise gained through years of marketing socially responsible products as a way to strengthen the industry, support the movement, and drive traffic to our website and stores.

Calendar for a Cause
Goal: As a Fair Trade Resource Network board member, my mission was to create a sustainable income stream for the organization
Solution: Sustainable revenue model in the form of a calendar of photographs submitted & voted on by the community; winning photos appear in calendar
My Role: Wrote/edited content, secured pro bono design, launched online contest, sold ads/sponsorships, landed wholesale accounts, online promotion, media outreach
Results: $urpassed sales goals; Model replicated for years to come; Increased brand awareness; Multiple income streams: Submission fees, Ads & Sponsorships, Retail sales nationwide (including Whole Foods)
